YouTube updating its latest feature from manual to automatic

Day after day, YouTube is unraveling many of its features related to video’s functioning. Earlier, this May, YouTube introduced its feature of manually adding chapters to a video. But recently it revised its algorithms to automatically adding chapters to videos with the help of machine learning and AI (Artificial Intelligence). If it goes right, it would be a remarkable accomplishment if the machine learning will be able recognize correctly about when to automatically section using the text provided in the videos.

Save time and create more

People find it quite difficult to find what they are searching for especially those who upload multiple videos. It could be as complicated as finding something in a book without its content list. Could be quite challenging to find the section which we want right? Similarly, we can hold the opinion for video’s enlisting to chapters. This new feature will ease up the task for viewers as they can jump directly to the precise part of the video which is relevant to them.

Cons of manually adding chapters

In manual adding of chapters, that particular time had to be mentioned in the description box from where the new chapter starts. This is called “timestamping”. And the limitation was set to minimum three timestamping and the video length was of 10 seconds. Plus, it used to consume a lot of creator’s time and we all know that time is money.

Youtube to update its latest feature from manual to automatic

But, it is not yet confirmed that automatic one will be best for users or not. Hence, cross your fingers and let’s see whether this feature works with precision or not.

For now, only a few in numbers are getting the benefit of using this very new feature, where AI would automatically add chapters and would add timestamps as necessary.

It would definitely elevate the performance of the creators who uploads multiple videos in a day and also it will be interesting to check AI-generated timestamps correctly.

At very first, Google is testing this feature on fewer videos and checking if it is working correctly. If your video happens to be negatively affected with this experiment, you can fill a form with Google and get rid of this service. Google is aware with the malfunctioning of the service as it is AI-generated and can give wrong results as well.
