Xiaomi To Release 3 Types Of Foldable Phones Next Year

Xiaomi, known for being ahead in smartphone innovation, is all set to launch three foldable smartphones in 2021. The company also filed a patent for a screen, which bends with a quad-camera that rotates forward for taking selfies and backward for regular photos.

Apart from Xiaomi, Samsung as well as OPPO and Vivo are planning to launch their foldable series in 2021

CEO of Display Supply Chain consultants, Ross Young, stated in his tweet that the company plans three different types of foldable smartphones. One will be out-folding and the other will be in-folding. The third type will be the clamshell type, with a screen size of around 8 inches. From Xiaomi’s foldable mobile phone, one will compete with the Galaxy Z series. The second one will be similar to the Z flip series and the third one to Huawei Mate X(s).

Earlier in the year, the XDA developers reported that one of Xiaomi’s foldable codenames will be ‘Cetus’. The community also claimed to have the code associated with the system MIUI 12, which revealed that the phone runs on Android 11 with a Snapdragon processor and a 108MP primary camera.
