Users Can Now Enjoy ‘Spoken Notifications’ From Google Assistant

Users can now integrate Google Assistant with their wired headsets. This integration is possible for a 3.5 mm headphone as well as for USB-C.

Earlier Google assistant was compatible only with the optimized headphones. Now the latest feature makes it possible for Google Assistant to be available on every wired headset. The feature also lets the Assistant read out the notifications received, whilst the phone is locked.

Even plugging a set of wired ‘non-optimized’ headsets will prompt a notification implying that users can assemble Google Assistant

When users plug in a 3.5mm or USB-C headset to their android device, they can run the latest Google version. This then enables users to speak to the Assistant on headsets by merely pressing and holding the headphone’s action button. Upon tapping, the set-up process will be initiated. This launch was previously available only for Bluetooth Pixel Buds, Sony Bose, etc headsets (on the wireless side) and for USB-C Pixel Buds- 2018 (on the wired front).

In addition to being able to hear notifications without talking on the smartphone screen, the new feature will allow users to perform a myriad of tasks. These include creating appointments on the calendar and setting timers.
