According to recent surveys, it has been observed that a PayPal text message phishing campaign steals out the account credentials and other important information, which is later on used for a huge theft.
And, a device named Bleeping computer detected the new PayPal phishing Campaign. Apart from this, the smishing campaign claims to be from PayPal that we have permanently made your account limited. First, a text message and URL are to be followed that will redirect you to the PayPal phishing page, and once you open that page, your phone number and the email and password reach the hackers. And then, you will be redirected to the billing address page that asks for more details about you.
Hackers collect the information to perform theft activities and attempt to perform targeted spear-phishing attacks.
These smishing scams are increasing day by day, and many of the unsuspecting users get trapped in this trick. Always try to overlook the Phishing emails and don’t ever click on the suspicious links you receive via text message or email. If you face any troubles with your account, simply go to the main site domain instead of clicking on the uneven links and messages.
In case you got trapped in this trick, you don’t need to stress over it as you can quickly freeze your credit report and accordingly change your credentials as soon as possible.
You are also advised not to apply the same credentials anywhere else.
