‘Parler’ aka “Twitter for Conservatives” has to face suspension from Amazon and Google due to content violation.
In a recent development, US President Donald Trump’s supporters took to this social media site “Parler” to express their anger and warned of resorting to violence. Sources state that this gave rise to horrific riots on Wednesday at the said country’s Capitol where 6 men were found dead.
Parler is a popular social media platform and had become a hotspot for some media personalities and politicians. Sometime ago, Twitter banned the US President charging with allegations of violence incitement.
A series of negative posts on social media sites like Twitter and Facebook have been under continuous scrutiny. However, Parler CEO John Matze seems to be upset over Amazon Web Services’ decision and calls it somewhat biased.
Matze stated, “We will try our best to move to a new provider right now as we have many competing for our business, however Amazon, Google and Apple purposefully did this as a coordinated effort knowing our options would be limited and knowing this would inflict the most damage right as President Trump was banned from the tech companies.”
Google and Apple followed suit to suspend Parler which has created quite a mistrust among its users. Even if this may seem to be posing a restriction on Free Speech, social media platforms will tread carefully.
